Anna Clegg

(b.1998)

Clegg works between painting, drawing, photography, video and sound to transpire material vocabularies which enhance intersubjective experiences. Her work resamples tropes and clichés from popular film and music culture, as well as the online choreographies that develop around them. Through technology she builds self-reflexive systems on memory and the complexities of embodied life against the distilled, unidirectional experience of recorded media. Clegg completed her BA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts in 2020.

Her recent group exhibitions include ‘Half Truths’ - Unit 2 Cassia Building, curated by Vanessa Murrell (London, 2023), ‘Radio Silence’ - Split Gallery (London, 2023), ‘Not Before It Has Forgotten You’ - Nicoletti Contemporary (London, 2022), ‘I <3 Your Output’ at greengrassi (London, 2022), ‘The Worm At The Core’ - SET Woolwich (London, 2022) and ‘Resistance or Stultification’ - Usual Business Gallery (London, 2022).
